The Supervisor Near Shore is responsible for the delivery of contract packages associated with all Near Shore works. You will provide support to the Construction Manager through provision of field supervision, planning, quality management, coordination, and construction management. The Supervisor Near Shore will assist the Construction Manager to direct and control the work of the contractors, ensure the contractors are working to the latest revisions of the drawing and specifications, ensure site entry requirements are complied with, inspect the work on the contractors daily and correct any actions a needed.

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining detailed records of contractor's progress against schedule and actively participate in quality inspections. You must attend pre-starts and weekly meetings, assist contractors in preparation and approval processes for permits of work, review delivery dates, review construction drawings, assist in preparation of enquiries for additional work, where works are carried out at hourly rates, assist in ensuring that extra claim sheets are correct in accordance with procedures and approved on a daily basis and assist in commissioning duties as and when required.

Selection criteria

The Health & Safety of all BCI Employees and Contractors is of upmost importance, therefore the successful candidate will
  • Ensure that relevant contractors and personnel comply with the applicable requirements of the HSEC Procedures
  • Ensure the BCI health and safety systems and procedures are implemented on the Mardie project site to enable the project to be safely delivered.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements and Company policies & procedures.
  • Ensure implementation of all aspects of the HSEC Procedures including inspections/audits of the contractors' areas, Hazard Card reporting, accident/incident investigations reporting, issue of work permits, job hazard analysis, behavioural based observations, conducting additional safety meetings and weekly workplace Inspections are completed as and when required.
  • Ensure JHA, Critical Risk Verification and Take 5 Auditing for Quality, task specific and compliance is completed.
The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in a similar supervisory role preferably within the Mining or Oil & Gas industry. Desired requirements as below:
  • High Risk Work Licence - Rigger Advanced, Scaffold Advanced and Crane.
  • Previous experience in construction.
  • Proven track record in delivery of port and marine projects of similar size and scope.

You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that not older than 3 months and you must hold a WA White Card.
