Sales of Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) are rapidly growing in WA as more people move towards sustainable and renewable energy sources. The State Government recently released its Electric Vehicle Strategy to support the transition to low and zero-emission electric vehicles and maximise the benefits for WA. The strategy includes the creation of a statewide electric vehicle charging infrastructure network, and a target of minimum 25 per cent electric vehicles for new light and small passenger and small and medium SUV government fleet vehicles by 2025/26.
That means there will be a lot more HEVs on the road, and you’ll be needed to inspect and service them! The new Battery Electrical Vehicle Diagnosis and Repair skill set will get you skilled up for inspecting and servicing HEV systems and components in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.
