This Espresso Machine Operation skill set is a nationally recognised short course where you'll learn how to organise a coffee workstation, take coffee orders, select and grind coffee beans, produce different types of espresso drinks, perform milk texturing, and serve coffee in the correct glassware. You’ll also learn food handling and hygiene practices, cleaning espresso machines, processing financial transactions, recommending different beverages to customers, and more.

In this short course you will learn and gain knowledge in the basics of espresso coffee, as well as coffee cultivation and processing, roasting and blending, different coffee styles, coffee bean storage, grinder setting, milk texturing, and how to operate and clean a commercial espresso machine.
Achievement of these units provides credit towards qualifications in the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.
