This nationally recognised qualification will teach you how to supervise primary school students and coordinate after-school education programs. You’ll also gain skills in leadership and business administration. Competencies include: working effectively with school-age children, ensuring food safety compliance, first aid in education and childcare, supporting children with disabilities, ensuring work health and safety, developing holistic learning and wellbeing programs for school-age children, supervising childcare workers, and much more.

Provide care to children in middle childhood
During this course you will learn to provide care and meet the social, emotional, physical and leisure needs children in middle childhood. You will also be learning about the theory and knowledge required to work and lead in diverse situations.
As part of this qualification you will need to undertake ongoing work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned. You will work closely with children and families from different backgrounds and cultures and provide care and support for them.

This qualification is for those who want to lead an education and care program for children outside of the school environment. This course will prepare you for the responsibilities of the day-to-day running of a before and after school care and/or vacation care service.
