This mechanical engineering qualification was specifically developed for existing tradespersons in the engineering field, or for engineering trade apprentices wishing to study at a higher level. If you're serious about your future, this is the course for you!

It covers the skills and knowledge required for employment as a Higher Engineering Tradesperson or a Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Mechanical) — Level II; Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication) — Level II; or Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Electrical/Electronic) — Level II within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or at equivalent levels in other industries where engineering tradespersons work.

The Certificate IV in Engineering (Instrumentation) has been specifically designed for any qualified tradesperson including unrestricted electricians, electrical fitters, engineers in the resource industry, refrigeration technicians, or for apprentices in their third or fourth year of study.

Learn to install, commission, calibrate and maintain modern instrumentation and control systems, as well as loop turning of multi controller or multi element systems.

Competencies include carrying out engineering measurements and computations, using hand and power tools, planning your work tasks, following safety and sustainability procedures, welding, and engineering hand skills, repairing and maintaining engine cooling systems, working with mobile plant hydraulics and suspension systems.
