How would you like to work in marine craft construction. building ships and boats? This is the qualification for you! Generally only available as an apprenticeship, this course covers everything you need to become trades qualified as a ship/boat builder.

You'll gain skills and knowledge in workplace communication; occupational health and safety; quality procedures and planning; plus a range of industry-specific industry skills in marine craft construction — this includes all aspects of the construction process from design and drawing. including the use of computer-aided design (CAD); timber construction of plugs and composite moulds and products; the use of hand and power tools; applying measurements and calculations; reading and interpreting technical drawings; and much more.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required by a tradesman working in marine craft construction. Training is project-based and covers all aspects of the construction process from design and drawing including the use of CAD , timber construction of plugs, and composite moulds and products.  People with this qualification may work in a manufacturing or repair organisation producing a variety of marine craft from kayaks and superyachts.
