With this nationally recognised qualification, you'll gain a knowledge of apparel or textile production processes. You'll learn how to identify and handle different types of fabrics and textiles, work out cost and waste to maximise customer value and apply cost factors to work practices, produce technical drawings of garments, lay up and cut complicated fabrics and lays, match fabrics to performance and handling requirements, develop patterns using basic patternmaking principles, operate computing technology and design programs including CAD, and so much more!

This course develops skills in fashion design concepts, pattern making, industry sewing techniques for stretch and woven garments as well gaining an understanding of fabrics and sustainability. Planning your designs, costing and marketing are also covered, assisting you to start your own business or employment in the fashion industry.
