You will have the skills and knowledge to be a member of the Frontline Retail Team, who have a defined and limited range of operational skills to undertake workplace activities. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision of others.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to prepare people for job roles within the retail environment such as supermarkets and department stores. It is designed for people who are new to the retail industry or in an entry-level role and work under supervision of others. After completing this course students will have the basic skills necessary for working in a diverse range of retail roles such as sales assistants, customer service assistants and check out operators. This is a nationally recognised training course and consists of face to face training and on the job practical activities with ongoing support. Activ Pathways offer flexible delivery options throughout WA – including metro and regional locations. Government funded places for this qualification may be available under the Participation – Equity funding model, subject to eligibility.

This qualification reflects the role of frontline retail team members who use a defined and limited range of operational skills to undertake workplace activities. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision of others. This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants. Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as business to business sales officer, sales representative and customer service officer. Work Placement will be provided as part of the course.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring basic retail operational knowledge and limited practical skills in a defined context. Work would be undertaken in a various retail store settings, such as speciality stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail outlets. Individuals may work with some autonomy or in a team but under close supervision. This qualification is delivered through Australian Apprenticeship arrangements.

The SIR20216 Certificate II in Retail Services provides the skills and knowledge for participants in job roles such as sales assistant, customer service assistant, checkout operator.  Participants may work with some autonomy or in a team but usually under close supervision.  This qualification is suitable for VET in Schools and Workplace Traineeships.

This qualification is designed to suit workplace-based trainees who are employed in a retail service role within a retail business. It is a comprehensive course designed to give participants entering the retail industry the necessary skills to perform the job role of a retail assistant. The qualification provides a pathway to work in many retail industry sectors and is suitable for a diverse range of retail-oriented employers. This qualification is targeted towards (but not exclusive to) School Based Trainees, who are employed in a retail business part-time, while also continuing their school education. Typical School Based Trainees will work between 7.5 and 20 hours per week as part of their employment arrangements.
