If you're keen on a career in electronics, but need to build some skills up to help you get that first job, the Certificate II in Electronics is for you!

You'll get a great  introduction to the world of electronics through a mix of technical and practical workshop skills. You'll learn how to assemble and replace electronic components; troubleshoot DC circuits; use test equipment; and follow workplace health and safety and sustainability practices. You'll also learn how to assemble, set up and test computing devices, and replace faulty components to repair basic electronic apparatus.

From here, you'll be job ready for entry-level work, or you can go on to further training.

North Metropolitan TAFE is offering a dual qualification in Electronics and Computer Assembly and Repair.  You can gain the Certificate II in Computer Assembly and Repair and the Certificate II in Electronics qualifications in just six months, opening doors to many different fields of further study and/or employment, including an apprenticeship.

In this course you will develop the ability to select, assemble, set up and maintain electronic devices, for a variety of uses, following prescribed routines. You will also have to opportunity to fault-find, and repair equipment.

Electronics touches our lives in many ways from listening to the radio, to watching television, talking on mobile phones, playing video games or working on a PC.
