This short course skill set offers units from a nationally recognised training package to provide essential training for seafarers  who are in charge of the Integrated Rating on a ship and responsible for implementing the planned maintenance system and maintaining relevant stores. 

You'll gain skills and knowledge for routine engine maintenance and the operation of engine equipment and propulsion plant on a vessel, and contribute to monitoring and controlling a safe engine watch.

On successful completion of this skill set, you will be eligible to obtain a Certificate of Proficiency as an Able Seafarer – Engine from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

This skill set provides essential training for Seafarers,  who are in charge of the Integrated Rating on a ship and responsible for implementing the planned maintenance system and maintaining relevant stores. As part of this course, you will need to complete three management units delivered over two weeks and an advanced firefighting unit, which you will need to do separately.
