Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care

This qualification covers the competencies required for educators who work with school age children in outside school hours’ care and vacation programs. You will gain the knowledge and skills to provide experiences to support children’s play and learning, identify and respond to children and young people at risk and to participate in work health and safety. This course is delivered both in the classroom (PIT) and as traineeship. PIT is based at our AIWT campus, traineeship is delivered on-the-job. Our trainers visit regularly in the workplace to conduct training and assessment.

This qualification reflects the role of educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs. In doing so they support the implementation of an approved learning framework. They may work under direct supervision or autonomously and may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff. 

Funded through PIT programme; Traineeship funding is for those employed in the industry.

Here at CTAS Education, we provide training that is catered specifically to educators.

This particular course is offered as a traineeship and therefore training and assessment is conducted in the workplace. Your trainer will be highly qualified and able to share a wealth of knowledge and experience with you. During your course you will be assessed using various methods, including verbal questioning, observations, role play and written tasks relevant to your daily work. You will receive exceptional resources and support to assist you with completing your assessments.

Our trainers will work with you on an individual basis and in partnership with your supervisors to ensure you continually improve and progress through your qualification.

Suitable for new entrants into the school age care industry, this course provides a good understanding of the fundamentals required to become a quality educator. Training is delivered in the work place to balance knowledge and skills learning. Delivery is available right across WA through either the Traineeship or PIT program. Fee for service options are also available.

This qualification provides participants with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to secure employment in registered outside school hours care centres as an educator. 

This qualification is delivered as a Traineeship on-the-job in the Perth Metro and Peel Regions.
