When you complete the Certificate IV in Engineering (Fluid Power) you'll have specialist skills in hydraulic systems, suitable for careers as a hydraulic fitter or technician, hydraulic systems designer, or hydraulic equipment sales.

You will gain the practical skills and knowledge to analyse, inspect, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, maintain fluid power controls, monitor equipment condition, and workplace health and safety.

This is a post trade qualification. You must be able to produce current certificate III, trade papers, qualifications, or equivalent to study.

This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required for employment as a Higher Engineering Tradesperson.

The publicly funded qualification is offered to people who are existing engineering tradespersons.

The key clients for this qualification are primarily existing workers operating at a high level of competence and productivity.

Units of Competency that we offer suit trade qualified senior operators, leading hands or supervisors and mostly relate to production planning, scheduling and team leadership.

The qualification packaging has been developed on an assumption that competency will be developed through an integrated combination of on and off-the-job learning strategies such as those delivered through a formal traineeship

We provide training and assessment in the trainee’s workplace.

The qualification may also be achieved through formal skills recognition assessment processes such as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).  RPL may be provided for some of the qualification where appropriate, with training and assessment provided for the remainder.

Trainees may take 6-24 months (according to traineeship requirements) to complete the qualification. The standard enrollment term for a post trade programme is 16 months.

Training is delivered on-site fully on-the-job
