Western Australia grows a diverse range of top-quality horticultural crops including tropical and temperate fruits, delicious vegetables and outstanding table wines.
Are you interested in working in this exciting industry? You may be interested in tree cropping, vegetable or berry production, grape growing or mushroom production – or you may work in a mixed enterprise.
The Production Horticulture Skill Set will introduce you to safe work practice in the horticultural industry; and you will learn to apply chemicals and cover the skills and knowledge to either plant or harvest horticultural crops, depending on the season and location.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following units

AHCWHS201 Participate in work health and safety processes
AHCBIO202 Follow site quarantine procedures
AHCCHM201 Apply chemicals under supervision
AHCWRK204 Work effectively in the industry
AHCPHT201 Plant horticultural crops
OR
AHCPHT214 Support horticultural crop harvesting
