You will learn about programmable logic controllers using the industry-based system Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA); electrical design; motor control; computer programming; and software applications.

You’ll also be taught how to diagnose faults or malfunctions in electrical systems and provide alternative approaches or solutions. As a graduate you may work as a Senior Technical Officer in a wide range of small to large scale businesses and be responsible for electrical and control support including administering/upgrading infrastructure.

This course offers a pathway to university.

This course is delivered at South Metropolitan TAFE over 4 semesters which equates to 2 years of full-time study.
