This qualification will give students the skills to work in a range of job roles in the tourism industry in organisations with an Indigenous focus. Student will develop their knowledge of local Indigenous culture, cultural protocols, how to obtain and understand cultural information, health and safety practices in the workplace and communication techniques.

Individuals may have a very specific role, as an Australian Indigenous person or other individual approved of by local elders to share aspects of their culture with visitors in a formal or informal way.

Course access requirements:

  • Students will need to consult with community leaders and/or elders who are approved by the community to share information.
  • Access to sites where Indigenous cultural activities take place such as cultural sites/centres, natural settings and galleries.
