This certificate will help students develop basic skills and knowledge to prepare for work in the visual arts, craft and broader creative industries. Students will complete oral and written coursework and gain hands-on skills through independent and collaborative projects.

Throughout the course, participants will work closely with the local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community to establish a reference group and use local cultural knowledge necessary to achieve some units of competency. Following completion, participants could progress into a role as an Aboriginal visual arts worker, community arts centre trainee or into other courses within the visual arts field.
