This qualification is delivered as a four year apprenticeship and comprises both theory and significant practical components. It covers generic skills for the construction industry and extensive trade specific units of competency.  The qualification provides a trade outcome in bricklaying and blocklaying upon successful completion.  Over the four years participants gain knowledge in OHS requirements, learn how to read and interpret plans, lay bricks, construct masonry steps and stairs and construct arches. This qualification is suitable for people who have signed a training contract and have entered into an apprenticeship arrangement in this trade area.
