This course is ideal for students who like practical, manual work, working with their hands and are considering a career in dental. Dental Technicians works with the Dental Profession in a Dental Laboratory to produce dental prosthetics (artificial dental appliances) for dental patients.  Eg Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Orthodontic appliances. This is a very practical hands on artistic programme that requires good dexterity with great rewards. Students work as an Apprentice under the supervision of the work place with support with online lessons and face to face tuition from DNA Kingston Training.

There are different fields that the Apprentice can specialize in dentistry and become their own business owner with experience.

As a Dental Technician, you will be responsible for preparing work for dental surgeries construct dental appliances.

Our dental technology qualification provides you with skills that are relevant to current industry trends and practices. By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Produce specialised dental appliances including orthodontic, crowns, bridges and splints
  • Conduct infection control
  • Implement Workplace Health and Safety
  • Engage in dental laboratory administration
  • Fabricate dental models and trays and make mouthguards

As a part of this qualification you will be employed as an apprentice in a Dental Laboratory and have the opportunity to meet other apprentices when attending the Oral Health Centre TAFE facility for some theory sessions. We are located in the modern facility at the Oral Health Centre of WA at Nedlands. This is also the training centre for dentists, oral health therapists and dental technicians.
