COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will learn the role of a Dental Laboratory Assistant who supports the Dental Technician in a Dental Laboratory with a very practical working position. You will be responsible for assisting in making artificial dental appliances for dental patients. E.g.  Pouring up plaster models, producing impression trays out of acrylic material, manufacturing bite registration rims out of dental wax, transferring oral record, and making sports mouth guards and orthodontic retainers.

The Certificate III in Dental Laboratory Assisting includes supervised work skills in a simulated dental laboratory at the state of the art Oral Health Centre of WA. You will get to train in the same facility as dental students, oral health professionals and dental assistants.
