COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will learn the skills to be a health professional (Dental Nurse) Dental Assistant who assists a Dentist, Dental Hygienist or a Dental Therapist during oral health care procedures. Their role includes: reassuring the patients, mixing dental materials, setting up for dental procedures,  teaching patients oral health techniques, passing instruments, maintaining high standards of infection control and assisting with practice administration (Receptionist) in the dental sector.  The course is conducted over 6 to 12 months with work experiences components imbedded in the course.

Work experience is embedded in the course of 250 hours. Employment assistance provided.
