This Diploma also provides you with skills in project management and sets you up for professional advancement.

At North Metropolitan TAFE we're offering real life work experience opportunities. Diploma students at our East Perth campus could take part in a workplace program with a local company. All students will need to submit your CV, then up to four will be interviewed and two selected to take part in this ten day program to gain live work experience as well as experience applying for jobs to get you started in your career in IT Networking.

When you complete the Diploma of Information Technology Networking you will be an attractive applicant for in-demand IT roles such as network manager, IT administrator, or network administrator.

You will gain the career enhancing knowledge and skills to: manage complex networks; configure virtual computing environments; apply advanced switching skills; implement active directories; administer Microsoft 365 systems, manage data storage systems; build complex networks. The course has embedded studies in Cisco, Microsoft Server and VMware.

You will acquire valuable experience in current industry standards, reviewing new technology, and with workplace health and safety.

South Metro TAFE has been a Cisco Academy for over ten years. With high levels of equipment and fully trained instructors this is the place to study in the Networking pathway or to undertake vendor certification studies.

It is expected that students entering Diploma level studies have the knowledge and/or experience equivalent to that gained in completing the relevant certificate IV course. The course builds on existing skills and does not "start from the beginning".

Completion of the Diploma of Information Technology Networking opens up a range of further study options and it may produce advanced standing towards a university degree.

Note: the course duration on the Rockingham campus is two semesters. At the Murdoch and Thornlie campuses the course is done in one semester. Applicants may choose at which campus they wish to study.

The Centre for IT Excellence (CITE) provides state of the art, industry relevant training in information technology, creative media and electronics. We provide pathways from foundation studies to advanced diploma with specialist training in cyber security, systems and programming.
