A Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is aimed at upcoming managers or team leaders who want to develop high level management skills to succeed in their position. The course is for people wishing to gain leadership and management skills to climb the management ladder. Students will sharpen their skills and have the opportunity to apply management concepts to work-based situations. This will provide course participants with the skills they need to work as effective leaders in their industry field.

Team Leader Skill Set

This short four unit nationally recognised skill set focuses on key business and management skills required of team leaders. This course also includes a work-renowned psychometric test (SDI) to ascertain participants individual motivational value systems and those of others. Strength Deployment Inventory is a self-awareness tool that bridges the gap between motivation and behaviour and provides an eye-opening glimpse into why people do the things that they do and how to improve relationships and manage conflict.

You may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and its work outcomes. You will learn management strategies including how to implement an operational plan, show leadership in the workplace and promote team effectiveness.

This qualification is aimed at staff working within a team who are looking to take on more leadership roles and may be acting as 2IC to a manager. Although there is no entry level requirements for this qualification the assessment material would be difficult to complete if you are not currently working and /or have no experience working in a team environment.
