This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to work as an Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industrires or other industries where Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical work. The qualification has been specifically developed for apprentices in the above trade. The qualification packaging has been developed on an assumption that competency will be developed through a combination of on and off the job learning strategies such as those delivered through a formal apprenticeship. The qualification may also be achieved through formal skills recognition assessment processes.
VET Student Loan : This course IS NOT eligible for a VET Student Loan.

You will gain the skills and knowledge to work with pumps and hydraulics, pneumatic systems, mechanical drives and transmissions, using workshop machines, hand and power tools, arc welding, thermal cutting, measuring, technical drawing, and workplace health and safety.
The Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter ZA) is an apprenticeship: you must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study.
Not all study modes are offered at all campuses. Please check with your local campus for study modes and elective units offered.
