A Certificate II in Construction will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to undertake a range of manual labouring tasks on building and construction sites. You will learn about safe work practices, using equipment and tools and effective communication. You will also learn skills that will enable you to read plans, take measurements, concrete surfaces, prepare surfaces, prepare for various construction stages and organise your work.

Licencing Outcomes
Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
VET Student Loans : This course is NOT eligible for a VET Student Loan.
Please note that enrolments for Semester 2 are not available at our Geraldton Campus for this qualification. Enrolments are available for Semester 2 at our Carnarvon Campus.

This course offers the skills needed for an entry level position on a construction site and is ideal for those wanting to work in roles such as a builder's labourer. As a builder's labourer, you will assist with the building and repair of structures and buildings, including works to subdivision and land development, renovations and also the prefabrication of building components. This qualification will provide you with the necessary skills base to perform these tasks under supervision and a number of the units of study crossover into related Certificate III qualifications and could act as credit for further study.
