They support the implementation of learning and development programs, and support children’s wellbeing. Successful completion of this qualification will provide a strong foundation for progressing to the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

Do you want a career nurturing our future?

When you complete the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care you’ll be on your way to a career as a preschool assistant or childcare centre assistant.
You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively as an educator, supporting the development and wellbeing of children aged 0 to 5 years, understanding children’s learning, providing learning support, working with children from culturally diverse backgrounds, identifying and responding to children at risk, and workplace health and safety.

The training package does not specify any mandatory entry requirements into this course. However prospective students should note that a mandatory part of the course requires you to participate and complete a supervised work placement, in a suitable environment that provides the services in your selected area of study. Before you commence work placement, you may be required to obtain a police clearance (approximately $72). Please check when you enquire as to whether a police clearance is required for your work placement.

It is strongly recommended you also consult with your doctor about having a flu vaccination.

Course description

Do you want a career nurturing our future?

When you complete the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care you’ll be on your way to a career as a preschool assistant or childcare centre assistant.
You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively as an educator, supporting the development and wellbeing of children aged 0 to 5 years, understanding children’s learning, providing learning support, working with children from culturally diverse backgrounds, identifying and responding to children at risk, and workplace health and safety.

The training package does not specify any mandatory entry requirements into this course. However prospective students should note that a mandatory part of the course requires you to participate and complete a supervised work placement, in a suitable environment that provides the services in your selected area of study. Before you commence work placement, you may be required to obtain a police clearance (approximately $72). Please check when you enquire as to whether a police clearance is required for your work placement.

It is strongly recommended you also consult with your doctor about having a flu vaccination.

You will develop the skills to plan, engage and implement educational programs for children in various child care settings.

This training is delivered face-to-face, 20 hours per week over a period of 27 weeks. This course includes mandatory work-based training which is organised by Stanley College.
