Free SBDC workshop – 8 Steps to Starting Your Business – at Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre!

Wouldn't it be great if someone could take you through eight steps that would help you think through your ideas and plans for a new business, and get it all set up and ready to go? WA's Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) can!

North Metropolitan TAFE is hosting a free workshop – 8 Steps to Starting Your Business – delivered by small business experts from SBDC, at their Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre on 8 December. SBDC has been supporting the establishment, growth and development of small business in Western Australia since 1984. Their  workshops are not only engaging, interactive and enjoyable but they're also full of useful information and advice.

Starting a business is the beginning of an exciting – and sometimes challenging – period in your life. All the ideas and the planning, then you find yourself immersed in a whole new world of licensing, insurance, marketing and leasing – it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

In this workshop you will learn about eight steps to help decide if you're ready to go into business, how to get started and where to seek help along the way.

  1. Determine if you are ready
  2. Assess your business idea
  3. Build your business plan
  4. Choose your business structure
  5. Check your legal obligations
  6. Build your support team
  7. Figure out your finances
  8. Market your business
