How would you love to create animations and visual effects for websites, social media, advertising, film and television? From working on simple animated graphics for social media, through to complex CGI and visual effects for games and movies, this is a specialist field where the job market is very competitive, but this qualification can get you that dream job!

You'll gain essential communication and presentation skills to pitch, present and develop your ideas; and develop high level digital editing and design skills using industry standard software and programs. You'll learn how to edit photos and digital graphics; develop storyboards and digital design components; create 2D and 3D animations and advanced digital and 3D models; create visual and special effects; prepare video assets; develop digital illustrations; author interactive media; and much more. Learning is hands on, taught by industry experts.

Discover your creative talent

This intermediate level course develops skills in 3D modelling and animation, 2D animation, visual effects, composition and storyboarding, sound, and writing. You'll start to understand what it takes to work in the entertainment and digital media industry as you discover your creative talent.

Upon completion you will have gained the necessary skills to be ready to enter the next stage: CUA51020-AC87 – Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects).

Be guided by our expert lecturers who are industry professionals as you learn the fundamentals of digital technologies and build a solid knowledge of creating animation and visual effects. You'll learn how to create AR (augmented reality), animation, digital effects, 3D modelling, 2D design, film post-production and sound.

This nationally recognised qualification will help you further build your portfolio so you can stand-out to prospective employers. You'll be job ready for roles such as Multimedia Designer or Digital Animator.
