This course is designed to meet the needs of supervisors or team leaders in the agriculture industry. You will be able to choose from specialisations in beef production, grain production, horse breeding, and sheep and wool production.

The Certificate IV in Agriculture allows participants to develop post-trade skills and knowledge to become specialists within the agriculture industry. The course has been designed to meet the needs of supervisors or team leaders in the agriculture industry.

Industry expects that individuals with this qualification will take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of the work of others within known parameters. They provide and communicate solutions to a range of predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems.

This course is delivered on stations only.

This qualification allows individuals to develop post-trade skills and knowledge to become specialists within the agriculture industry. It is designed to meet the needs of supervisors or team leaders in the agriculture industry.

Individuals with this qualification will take responsibility for their own work and for the quality of the work of others within known parameters. They provide and communicate solutions to a range of predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems. Job roles vary across different industry sectors and include Farm team leader or Farm supervisor.

This course is delivered full-time directly in the workplace and will include 3 – 4 onsite training visits by the Trainer/Assessor.

The units selected have been designed in consultation with industry and best represents the occupational outcomes of workers who are employed within the beef production industry.

  • supervising work programs and staff performances

Learners enrolling at this level must be working within the industry and employed in a position of authority.

This qualification is delivered 100% at your workplace and tailored to suit your requirement and to service your industry (Agriculture, Rural Operation, Feedlots) with the best practise used in Australia.

This qualification will teach you intermediate skills in livestock and crop production, as well as giving you the option to specialise in organic production or agribusiness, should you want to own or manage your own business. Students gain further competencies at level four to equip them for employment as senior station hands, farm supervisors or in agribusiness. It also prepares them for future roles as business and farm managers.

What will I learn?

  • students choose from a large range of elective units including livestock health, nutrition, feeding and breeding; feed lotting; pasture and crop production
  • soil, pest management and project management
  • farm finance and advice on selling farm machinery and farm chemicals
  • total catchment management
  • shearing and wool classing strategies
  • handle and care for stallions
  • supervising irrigation and systems installation
  • conduct major repair and overhauls to farm machinery and equipment, and much more
