You'll gain skills and knowledge to work safely in metal fabrication — including the use of chemicals; and learn how to perform complex measurements, use a variety of industry tools and machinery for different welding processes including flux core arc, and working to quality standards. You'll also learn how to do heat treatments and testing including inspections, set and edit computer controlled machines and processes, and lathe operations.

Students will learn the skills and knowledge at a professional level in welding and fabrication across a number of industries such as mining and construction. Boilermaker/welders produce metal fabricated products such as structures, frames, plate assemblies, pipework, vessels, maintenance of mining equipment, trays, buckets and side tippers using tools, welding and thermal cutting equipment and fabrication techniques.
