
If you'd like to kickstart your career in mining, working as an operator on sites such as an open cut coal mine, a quarry or an open cut metalliferous mines is the way to go!
With this qualification, you'll learn how to perform a range of tasks, routines and procedures; and how to work effectively and safely on a mine site.
You'll also learn skills to work in a team, haul truck operations, working with machinery and plant, setting up lighting rigs, operating light vehicles, and operating and maintaining four wheel drive vehicles.

Are you interested in a career in the resource or civil construction industry? If you are a school leaver or have limited outdoor work experience, then this qualification could be for you. This course provides a range of skills suitable for working as an entry-level operator in an open cut coal or metalliferous mine or quarry.
You will learn how to operate and maintain a skid steer and four-wheel-drive, plan and prepare for work, undertake basic worksite tasks, identify worksite risks and hazards to ensure workplace health and safety and communicate within your team. This course will assist you with improving skills in the resource and civil construction industry.
