If you want to work your way up the hospitality ladder, then this course is a great place to start. This entry-level qualification provides basic operational hospitality skills and is suitable for someone new to the industry.

You will learn about food and beverage preparation, serving coffee and non-alcoholic beverages, interacting with customers and undertaking social and cultural sensitivity. You will also have the opportunity to specialise in a particular area of the hospitality industry, such as accommodation, administration, customer service, kitchen operations, computer operations, food and beverage, finance, gaming or inventory through your selection of elective units.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. Job roles involve mainly routine and repetitive tasks using practical skills and basic industry knowledge, working under direct supervision.

South Regional TAFE is transitioning this qualification to the new training package in 2024. Students will be enrolled into the new units developed to meet current and future industry needs. Fees may vary for courses transitioning to the new training package.

This qualification is offered under a workplace full-time or part-time traineeship or school-based arrangement in an on-the-job capacity, involving training and assessment in the workplace. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. This qualification is suitable for VET in Schools and Workplace Traineeships.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

Vocational Training Services (VTS) is a WA owned and operated training provider servicing Metro and Regional WA with training-staff based in Perth, the Kimberley, Pilbara, Midwest and Great Southern.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are new to the industry or in an entry-level role and work under the supervision of others. The course provides students the basic skills necessary for work.
VTS offers the Certificate II in Hospitality as a traineeship and all the training is delivered in the workplace, VTS will travel to regional locations to deliver training and assessment. Elective units are selected based on the trainee’s job role.
This qualification is suitable to be delivered as a School-based traineeship.
