This traineeship program is for Drillers assistants requiring national certification within the drilling industry. AMPT Services can supply this traineeship for all streams of drilling operations, blast hole drilling, water well, geotechnical, environmental, seismic, mineral exploration, foundation/construction, trenchless and directional drilling. Our eLearning platform provides the learning component of the course followed by practical training and assessment in the field on the rig. This system works everywhere 24/7 with or without internet coverage, on devices using both apple and android systems. Students can use the platform in remote areas to complete the course and when in internet range the eLearning platform syncs and uploads the course to our eLearning platform. The system allows for voice to text to complete assignments so no writing involved when in internet range. Site supervisors are regularly updated with student progress reports. Our fully qualified trainers and assessors regularly complete site visits to ensure trainees are up to date with training and assessment and are available for support services via telephone or email.

Progress your career in the drilling industry and learn while you earn with Australasian Drilling Institute (ADI). The Priority Industry Training program for Existing Workers opens the door to attaining a nationally recognised qualification, RII20920 Certificate II in Drilling Operations, while learning valuable skills at work and with the guidance of Australasian Drilling Institute as your Registered Training Organisation. This qualification reflects the role of a Driller’s Assistant (DA)/Offsider or similar which involves performing a broad range of tasks in a wide variety of drilling contexts while under the supervision of a Driller or senior crew member. This position will involve discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services, or contingency measures. This Priority Industry Training – Existing Worker program is an effective choice for employers to have new or experienced employees attain this industry qualification. ADI’s program combines

  • training delivered by ADI’s drilling trainer and assessor in online sessions,
  • self-paced online learning for all the necessary knowledge and skills,
  • work-related assessments through on-the-job practice, and
  • work based training and assessment with ADI.

The expected duration is 12 months for RII20920 Certificate II in Drilling Operations which involves successful completion of 12 units of competency - 8 core and 4 elective units.
