You'll learn about repairing vehicle body panels using filler, oxyacetylene and basic gas metal arc welding and thermal cutting; removing and replacing panels and fittings; workplace safety and health; using a range of tools and equipment; and preparing, masking and priming surfaces in preparation for painting.

South Metropolitan TAFE's Carlisle Campus is WA's major centre for automotive and panel beating studies. Automotive apprentices and pre-apprentices enjoy state of the art facilities, including new vehicles, specialised repair and diagnostic equipment, fully equipped spray painting ovens, specialised workrooms and workshops.
