You'll gain entry level job ready skills to work in a range of job roles in the tourism industry. Indigenous tour guides have a very specific role, as an Australian Indigenous person or other individual approved by local elders, to share aspects of their culture with visitors in a formal or informal way.
This course will enable you to develop your knowledge of local Indigenous culture, cultural protocols, how to obtain and understand cultural information, health and safety practices in the workplace and communication techniques.

Share your knowledge and experience of Australian indigenous culture with a nationally recognised tourism qualification. This course prepares you for a career as an Indigenous guide/cultural assistant in the tourism industry.
Throughout this course, you will learn how to interpret aspects of local indigenous culture, provide an engaging service to customers, create tourism briefings and scripted commentary, and work as part of a team. This course also covers basic first aid response.
This course was designed to provide you with a solid foundation of the tourism industry and build your confidence to share knowledge about country to domestic holidaymakers and international tourists alike.
